http://www.edmunds.com/insidel... BMW and Mercedes-Benz are separated by about 150 miles and a rivalry as fierce as the one between Coke and Pepsi. BMW builds the 2007 335i Sedan in the Bavarian city of Munich, while Mercedes-Benz has just released the all-new 2008 C350 Sport from its headquarters in the Swabian city of Stuttgart. Though Mercedes has long had the upper hand in terms of both stature and commercial success in Europe, the BMW 3 Series outsells the Mercedes-Benz C-Class by more than a 2-to-1 margin in the U.S., some 120,180 to 50,187 last year.

HEY 4MATICbenz THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UNTRUTHFUL OPINION i HAVE NEVER HEARD.A 3 SERIES IS MORE COMFORTABLE THAN A C CLASS MERCEDES,IS MORE FUN TO DRIVE, IS A REAL SPORTS CAR AND IT DEFINES THAT SEGMENT.EVEN A G37 IS BETTER THAN A C350.3 SERIES ALSO HAS BETTER RESALE VALUE.C350 AND 3 SERIES SAFETY IS ALMOST THE SAME.A C350 IS NOT REFINED AT ALL,IS CHEAP INSIDE AND LOSES VALUE QUICKLY

It's a shame Mercedes couldn't do a better job on the inside of this car - it's a sharp looking piece and drives well enough. I've always thought they short changed their "baby" models, from the 190 right through the C-Class. If you want a "real" Benz, you gotta pony up for an E-Class, at least.

true, out of all the new entry level sedans ( BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Infiniti G, Caddy CTS, Lexus IS) i have to say the the Mercedes C350 has more sharper exterior styling, it just has more flare and is better looking than the others. However, like you said, the interior is dull, dark, and ugly. Mercedes has always had the nicest interiors, but this new C-class is NOT like any Mercedes interiors ive ever seen

the 335i is unbeatable.

I didn't notice a huge difference ride-wise between the base-suspension 335i and the C350. And the Benz has a really cheap interior that doesn't befit the brand at all. If you're looking for a more luxurious alternative to the BMW, a base Infiiniti G37 or the Cadillac CTS are better drives.

Look closely at the center stack of the Benz...you have to open that multimedia screen to tune the radio, and check out the cheesy plastic around the screen when it's open. The only way to hide the cheesy plastic is to close the nav screen, and when you do that, the radio/nav display is hidden. If you're looking for a more luxurious alternative to the BMW, check out the Caddy CTS 3.6 DI. MUCH nicer than the Benz.

I've driven them both, and the BMW is VASTLY better than the M-B. The only real advantage the Benz has is in ride comfort, and that advantage is negated when you opt for the base 335 suspension, versus the sport suspension. Unless you're a track junkie, you won't notice the difference. And when it comes to interior quality, there's no comparision - the Benz's materials look like they're right out of a Camry. The only advantage the Benz has is price.

okay like the video guy said "if your soul criteria is power and performance; go with the BMW". If your priorties for a new purchased vehicle are more practical ( safety, comfort, refinement) then your best choice would be the Mercedes. The Bimmer was built for the TRACK. Not everyday roads and highways, thats what the Mercedes was built for. Unless your daily commute includes canyon carving back roads, youre best buy would have to be the Mercedes. simple as that

still though....if they're going to include the nav on the mercedez, at least include it on the bmw.....its a comparison test
