There are obvious pro's and con's to both sides of the arguement. As a citizen living in Alberta, Canada, I have no complaints concerning my health care system. Nor do any of my fellow citizens. As far as I know anyways. Here.. it is a non issue. Yet in America this is widely debated... clearly a change is needed, I'm not saying you should make healthcare COMPLETELY universal, but clearly letting the insurance companies(driven by profit) control it is the wrong choice.

some Countries with Universal health care: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, All of European Union! Not just France and Germany and Sweden. Pretty much all of Europe plus Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia... Does that add up to the population of the U.S. Obviously the problem is not the lack of money... or the lack of examples.

1- cut cost by eliminating most private health insurances 2- cut cost by investing on "alternative" medicine that has been proven effective 3- cut cost by incentive of good health (e.g. good food; exercise) 4- 4- cut cost

When you have a universal health care, that country is slowly moving towards the left of the political spectrum. I just can't imagine US moving towards a leftwing nation

Anyone know how much Universal healthcare in America costs? 57 Trillion dollars! Where the Hell are we gonna get that money from? The reason socialized medicine doesn't work is because America's population is just too big. If you add up all the countries with socialized healthcare, Britian, France, Sweden, and Germany, you still woulden't get America's population. It just doesn't work.....Get over it!

Universal health care does not manage decision making. It manages only the spending so that government PAYS for it, instead of having people go bankrupt for getting sick, which is a rather barbaric system. There would be no lines under a universal health care system in the United States because we have about a 30% oversupply of medical equipment and surgeons, whereas demand would increase about 15%.
